The Dog Fur Coat Is of Different Types
1. Smooth Coat
This coat requires less grooming, but the fur coat should not be neglected. The hair in this type of coat lies close to the body, such as in Dachshund breed, the dogs need to be bathed and brushed regularly. Not as much as some other types of furry dogs.
2. Double Coat
The dogs who have double coat, have soft undercoat which gives them shelter and a tougher top coat that repels water and shields from dirt. This double-coat, can be short- or long-haired. The dogs with this coat need more grooming than dogs with other types of fur.
3. Long Coat
The dogs who have longer fur such as German Shepards demand much more grooming in comparison to other dogs like combing or brushing that also on regular basis. These long coat dogs need more care and attention especially at the time of their shedding. Long coats of the dogs can be hard, rough or silky, for dogs with any quality of fur the detangling shampoo should be used for bathing your dog to avoid any pain.
4. Wire Coat
The dogs of terriers, as well as Irish Wolfhounds, have wiry coats that are more prone to tangles. Wire coats, dogs are also known as broken coats. The dogs who have wire coat need both a stripping comb and a slicker brush for grooming.
5. Curly Coat
Curly-coated dogs, such as Poodles or Bichon Frises, have thick, soft curls that rest close to the body. The curls in the dog’s fur should be trimmed and cared properly, because they grow fast and can again be tangled. When the fur is brushed, use a soft, curved slicker brush against the lay of the fur in order to make the coat fluffy.

Dogs should always be given a healthy diet with a lot of protein and amino acid content, which will help to strengthen and gives freshness to the dog’s coat by giving the hair’s or fur the natural structure.
2. Unwanted Guests
The flies and the tick are the unwanted guests in our dogs body. This is especially true in dirty, matted hair. If dog intakes the parasites, it can cause infections and discomfort to the dog. We should keep the coat clean and brushed. When we brush our dog it gets us close and personal with our dog’s skin and hair, keeping a check that parasites stays away from our dog.
3. Balding
When we see excessive hair loss or patches of baldness on our dog’s coat, it is sign of some significant problems. This can be due to hormonal problems and tumors. It can also be the symptom of emotional problems, like stress or impulse control issues in the dog.
4. That Dog Smell
The look and feel of the fur aren’t the only ways to monitor your dog’s health through his or her coat. The fur of the dog should also smell fresh. A dog having strong, musky, or foul odor and even dry fur is the indication of bacterial infection, fungus, fleas, or even dry skin.
