It is not easy to find out whether you are having normal or heavy periods in comparison to other females. Some females think that they are having heavy flow, but they actually have average blood loss. Whereas, some feel that they have normal blood loss, but they actually have heavy blood loss. Usually the first three days are experienced with more blood loss.<\/li><li>It is not easy to calculate or measure the loss of blood during the cycle. &nbsp;In case the loss of blood occurs between 30 to 40 ml every month, then bleeding will extend up to seven or eight days and here bleeding for five days becomes average.<\/li><li>In case the loss of blood is 80 to 90 ml or more than that, it becomes more difficult to measure the amount of blood loss which occurred during the period.<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn1.medicalnewstoday.com\/content\/images\/articles\/190\/190664\/crypto-causes-gastric-issues.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A period is considered to be heavy in below cases <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Excess\nbleeding through to clothes or bedding.<\/li><li>If there\nis a frequent requirement to change the sanitary towels and\/ or tampons.<\/li><li>If extra\nor double sanitary protection is required with tampons as well as towels.<\/li><li>Excess\nStaining and Soaking of bed sheets and clothes.<\/li><li>Passing\nout large clots of blood during urination.<\/li><li>Disturbance\nin normal activity due to heavy bleeding.<\/li><li>Menorrhagia\nbasically is experiencing heavy menstruation every month. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Causes Of Heavy Menstruation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many reasons of menorrhagia. Some of the reasons are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>There are so many reasons of menorrhagia.\nSome of the reasons are:<ul><li>When menstrual cycles are without ovulation,\nknown as anovulatory cycles are most common in those who:<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Have\nrecently started menstruating<\/li><li>Approaching\nmenopause<ul><li>Due to hormonal disturbance: If there is\nfluctuation of progesterone and estrogen, the endometrium (inner lining of\nuterus) become thicker. This is when shed during periods, heavy bleeding\noccurs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Uterine Fibroids &#8211; These are actually\nnon-cancerous (benign) growths which occurs in the muscle of the female\u2019s womb.\nIt does not cause that much problem but might lead to symptoms like heavy\nperiods.<ul><li>Uterine polyps: these benign growths can\nresult in higher hormone levels.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Adenomyosis: Glands from endometrium become\nembedded in the muscle of the uterus.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Anti-coagulant drugs can lead to heavy\nbleeding.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Pelvic inflammatory disease: Infections\ninside the female\u2019s womb.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>A cancer known as endometrial cancer that\noccurs in the lining of the womb.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>PCOD \u2013In case of irregular ovulation, periods\nalso become irregular.
