Women\u2019s health needs changes with age. At the age of 40, hormones in women bodies are more imbalanced. To ensure good health it is extremely important to follow the guidelines listed below <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Lifestyle Changes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to staying healthy and boost female health is to overcome the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetayurveda.com\/vata-dosha.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"imbalance of Vata dosha (opens in a new tab)\">imbalance of Vata dosha<\/a>\/ energy in the body. This can be achieved by having a regular daily routine that includes <strong>waking up early and going to bed early<\/strong>. It is important to incorporate a <strong>regular meal time<\/strong> and not to skip meals in between. This keeps Vata dosha in control and the female stays calm and healthy. Always <strong>get fresh warm cooked food.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Well Balanced Diet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to good health is a well-balanced nutritious diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables top the list. Women should opt for a multivitamin and calcium supplements if they are not getting enough of these from their diet. Women under 50s need 1000 mg of calcium a day while those over 50 needs to get 1200 mg of calcium a day which one can easily get with milk, almonds <g class=\"gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"12\" data-gr-id=\"12\">and<\/g> salmon.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is never recommended to go on a diet. Women should not consume less than 1500 calories a day even if she wants to lose weight. Eat everything in moderation. Snack on healthy things like nuts.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Exercise<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Exercise in the form of aerobics, running, biking, dancing, swimming, jogging, can improve the physical and mental health of women. To prevent osteoporosis at a later age, a mix of cardio and weight-bearing exercises should be done three to five times a week. This also prevents heart diseases and the risk of diabetes. Exercise prevents obesity, builds resistance, keeps the stress away and also promotes good self-image. Pranayama or breathing exercises are very useful in clearing the lungs of carbon dioxide and increasing oxygen intake in the body. Deep belly breathing is a good way to massage the internal organs and aid digestion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. <strong>Stay Stress-Free<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Stress has adverse effects on health. The effects may range from infertility to depression, anxiety and heart diseases. Women go through more stress carrying out day to day activities. It is very important to take a break and relax once a while. It is very important for a woman to pursue her hobby or do something she enjoys. One may follow relaxation techniques like <strong>meditation, getting massages and practice yoga<\/strong> to stay stress-free. It is very important to get adequate sleep. <strong>Add laughter to your life<\/strong>. This will prevent premature aging as it lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Laughing out loud releases endorphins that stimulate blood circulation and promote relaxation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. <strong>Stay Hydrated<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To boost health, whether it is for males or females, water plays a vital role. Being dehydrated impacts the brain function and makes one feel tired, has headaches and dizzy and gives dry skin. It is advised to drink warm water and ginger tea throughout the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. <strong>Birth Control<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowledge of birth control options is very important for every woman. It helps to keep from getting pregnant and also lowers the risk of uterine and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetayurveda.com\/ovarian-cancer.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ovarian cancer (opens in a new tab)\">ovarian cancer<\/a>. In some cases, birth control also helps to regulate the cycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. <strong>Avoid Bad Habits<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Drugs, smoking, alcohol affect women\u2019s health. Drinking in moderation is fine but in excess may lead to adverse effects on female health. Overcome Anemia <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Anemia is more common in women than men of the same age group. It is caused due to deficiency of iron. It is very important to include nuts, apples, beetroot, spinach, amla and other foods rich in iron. The best way to increase iron absorption is to have an apple with lemon juice on it. Iron supplements may also be taken if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. <strong>Self-Examine for Breast Cancer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Women are advised to look out for any changes in their breasts and consult a doctor if needed. A yearly mammogram is recommended for women above 40 as it is an effective way of detecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetayurveda.com\/breast-cancer.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"breast cancer (opens in a new tab)\">breast cancer<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. <strong>Protect Against Skin Cancer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is recommended to wear sunscreen when outside in the sun to prevent skin cancer. UV rays damage the skin even on a cloudy day so it is good to apply sunscreen to prevent dark spots and wrinkles. It is also good to check regularly for signs of skin cancer like a change in the size, shape, color or feel of birthmarks, moles or freckles or any new pigmented skin areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11. <strong>Get Pap Test Every 3 Years<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Women older than 21 years of age should get a Pap test every 3 years to check for cervical cancer. Those sexually active should get yearly tests for STDs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV. A yearly physical checkup is a must to stay healthy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Herbs for Female Health<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain herbs when taken on a daily basis improve female health naturally. One such herb is <strong>Shatavari or Asparagus.<\/strong> It strengthens the female reproductive system and also regulates hormonal imbalance. The herb is very effective in removing weakness in females. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other herbs highly beneficial for females are <strong>Amalaki\/ gooseberry and Ashoka<\/strong>. Amla helps to balance the three doshas and aid digestion.
