What is Prostate?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is an apricot-sized gland found in males, located between the bladder and the penis. This gland is present just in front of the rectum. The size of this gland measures 20 to 30 grams, urethera run through the center of the prostate<\/a> from the bladder to the penis that passes out urine from the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This gland secretes a fluid that protects the sperm. During ejaculation, this gland gets contracted and through its fluid enters into the urethra. An enlargement in this gland is called as Prostatomegaly. It usually occursin older men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prostate enlargement is also called benign prostatic hyperplasia<\/a>. Now we will discuss Prostatomegaly in detail as per Ayurvedic perspective: In Ayurveda, prostate gland is named as \u201cPaurush granthi\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two shlokas of \u201cShushruta Samhita\u201d utartantram<\/g> explains that when apan<\/g> vayu<\/g> is in between the rectum and bladder, it gives rise to an increase in the prostate that is stable and enlarged in size. The enlargement of the prostate<\/a> cause\u2019s suppression, distention of the urine, Vata, and pain in the bladder. This type of disease is known as \u201cvataashtheela\u201d or \u201cmutraastheela\u201d (enlargement of the prostate gland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Per Ayurveda BPH (Enlarged Prostate) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vayu dosha creates an obstruction in the urinary bladder and anal region that blows them to produce protruded and a stony mass mobile. These all cause painful condition and obstruction in the passage of urine and feces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This enlargement mostly occurs at the age of 40-50 years. In allopathic, most of the surgeons recommend surgery for this problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signs and Symptoms in An Enlarged Prostate Male are Given Below <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  • Retention\nin the urine.<\/li>
  • Inability\nto empty the bladder completely that gives a feeling of urine urge many times.<\/li>
  • Urinating\nat night time in shorter voiding intervals(nocturia).<\/li>
  • Dribbling\nand weak urinary stream all the time.<\/li>
  • The\nUrinary bladder doesn\u2019t get empty fully. The urine left in the bladder gives birth to various\nbacteria.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
