What are the Causes of Multiple Sclerosis?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The main cause of multiple sclerosis is usually unknown. It is considered as an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system starts attacking its own tissues. In this disease, the immune system malfunction destroys the fatty substance that protects the nerve fibers in the spinal cord and brain. When the protective myelin gets damaged and nerve fiber is exposed, the messages that travel along these nerves may be blocked.<\/p>\n

Many viruses and bacteria \u2014 such as measles, human herpesvirus-6, Epstein Barr virus (EBV) and Chlamydia pneumonia, these are involved in the development of multiple sclerosis.<\/p>\n
