What are the perceived problems with Chaywanprash?

It is one of the greatest herbal tonics but due to its sweet taste, people are worried about health issues. In case of Chaywanprash, “sweet delicious” taste is an essential part of its therapeutic tonic properties.

  • It must be understood that Ayurveda recommends honey or unrefined cane sugar for its preparation.
  • It is the refined sugar that is harmful because it leaches the valuable minerals from our body reserves.
  • After sugar, people have concern that should it be taken with milk or not? It should be taken with warm milk because the ingredients used in chyawanprash have hot potency so to retaliate it, one should drink milk with chyawanprash as milk has cold potency which mitigates the hot potency effect.
